Walking My Intention: A Daily Practice at Rogue Awakening

There’s a moment I look forward to every day—before the sweat, the stretch, and the stillness. I arrive in silence, take a breath, and ask:
“How do I want to arrive today?”
Sometimes the answer is clear. Other times, it’s quiet or hidden beneath old stories. But I wait for it—and trust it. At Rogue Awakening, we believe intention is the foundation beneath every breath, every movement, and every moment of stillness. It’s what transforms a workout or a yoga class into a practice.
It’s what keeps us present, honest, and awake.
One way I set my intention is by writing it the night before—as if the day has already happened. I write in past tense:“Today, I woke up at 6:00am. I moved my body, drank 16 ounces of water, and made my way into the studio energized and clear. I crushed my quad and calf workout by lifting heavier than ever before and felt stronger than ever. For breakfast I enjoyed avocado toast and a berry smoothie.”
I do this for the entire day and I am specific. This practice grounds me. It’s not about pretending—it’s about choosing my mindset in advance. It reminds me that I am the author of how I show up.
Today when I woke up, my intention came to me: “Move from compassion, not comparison.”
That shifted everything—from softening into child’s pose without guilt during my yoga class, to celebrating the reps I could do instead of chasing what I couldn’t in my gym workout. I watched how that energy spread. Intention is contagious. It can lift you up to push you down.
So whether it’s your first class or your hundredth, try this:
✨ Tonight, write tomorrow.
✨ In the morning, set an intention for the day.
✨ Before your next session, pause and ask —How can I live my story?
Transformation starts here—not with force, but with intention. Not with doing more, but with moving on purpose.
I'll be right here walking this path with you. See you in the studio.
