PRE & POSTNATAL YOGA (15 Hours CECs)

OBJECTIVE

This Prenatal Yoga Certification is designed to equip yoga teachers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to safely and effectively guide pregnant students through all trimesters of pregnancy. You’ll gain a foundational understanding of the physical and emotional shifts of pregnancy, learn how to build safe and empowering sequences, and explore tools for breathwork, meditation, and trauma‑informed teaching. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to integrate prenatal yoga principles into your teaching, support students with modifications and mindful cueing, and cultivate a nurturing and inclusive environment.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Each student will receive:

- Prenatal Yoga Manual covering anatomy, trimester-by-trimester considerations, safe sequencing, and mindfulness practices.

- Mommy Affirmation Deck to support positive mindset and emotional well-being.

- Prenatal Stability Ball for incorporating safe stability exercises into your practice.

 - Certificate of Completion (15 CECs) recognized by Yoga Alliance.

WHO IS THIS FOR

Ideal for yoga teachers, fitness instructors, movement professionals, doulas, and birth educators who want to broaden their skills and provide safe, supportive movement or classes for expecting parents. This training is also beneficial for practitioners interested in deepening their own understanding of prenatal movement and mindfulness practices. Approved for continuing education, it’s a perfect way to maintain credentials while expanding your teaching repertoire.

What To Expect

Day One

Day Two

We’ll start with a warm welcome, introductions, and a course overview. To set the tone, you’ll participate in a prenatal class taught by the instructor, grounding everyone in the day’s theme. The morning covers the foundations of prenatal yoga, including anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and understanding trimester changes. We’ll explore functional vs. dysfunctional movement patterns and dive into essential contraindications and safety guidelines. After lunch, you’ll learn pose modifications and safe sequencing, integrating ideas like the benefits of meditation during pregnancy. The day ends with hands-on practice using props and creating supportive class outlines.

The second day begins with a relaxing prenatal class focused on breathwork and meditation, aligning with the day’s emphasis on mental well-being. After a brief recap and Q&A, we cover perinatal mental-health awareness—how to recognize when normal fears turn into disorders and how to encourage students to seek professional support. You’ll then explore meditations specially designed for pregnant students, including one-pointed, breath-counting, bubble, and body rhythm techniques. The afternoon focuses on trauma‑informed teaching, supportive communication, and ethics, followed by group discussion, real‑world case studies, and guided teaching practice. We conclude with final presentations, feedback, and certification.

Additional Requirements

In addition to 13 hours of in-studio learning, students complete two observation hours at Rogue Awakening or another approved studio to receive certification. These extra hours help integrate theory into real-world practice.
