AERIAL YOGA (15 Hours CECs)

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this training is to provide participants with a strong, well-rounded foundation in aerial yoga that extends beyond learning poses. Through education, hands-on practice, and guided feedback, participants will develop the skills and confidence to safely prepare the body, intentionally structure classes, and intelligently sequence aerial yoga experiences. This training emphasizes professional teaching standards, awareness of benefits and contraindications, and the ability to support diverse students through thoughtful, empowering, and transformative instruction.

This training is designed for yoga teachers who want to expand their offerings with aerial yoga, aerial yoga practitioners who are ready to step confidently into teaching, and movement professionals seeking a deeper understanding of aerial sequencing and intentional class design. It is also well suited for anyone who desires to teach aerial yoga with safety, clarity, integrity, and purpose at the forefront of their practice. Approved for continuing education, it’s a perfect way to maintain credentials while expanding your teaching repertoire.

We’ll kick things off with a warm welcome, introductions, and a course overview to establishes the foundation of aerial yoga, covering the basics of the practice, its benefits, and key contraindications. Participants will learn how to properly set up and care for the hammock, prepare the body for aerial movement, and understand essential class preparation and peak pose concepts. The day also focuses on teaching fundamentals, including the qualities of a good teacher, giving and receiving feedback, and using “Grows and Glows” to support growth. Journaling observations and assists will be introduced to help integrate learning into practice.

We’ll start with a quick recap and Q&A before moving into an aerial class to start the day. After class, we will shift our focus to intelligent class design and integration. Participants will explore class themes, descriptions, and teaching equations, then apply these tools through intelligent sequencing and creating their own aerial yoga classes. Emphasis is placed on intention, integration, and the full class arc, from preparation to peak poses and ending with surrender, allowing participants to leave feeling confident, clear, and connected in their teaching. 

In addition to 10 hours of in-studio learning, participants will complete three observation hours and two hands-on assisting hours at Rogue Awakening. These experiential hours are designed to bridge theory and practice, allowing students to apply what they are learning in a real-world teaching environment.
